Make-Ahead Raw Kefir Smoothies

The majority of us don't like waking up any earlier than we have to, and us non-early morning dwellers have to unite! Luckily, we have created a few delicious make-ahead* raw kefir smoothies to help you out with those dreaded early morning.

*make-ahead smoothies are simply smoothies that you prepare, then freeze, so that all you have to do is pull one out, throw it in a blender, and add some Kefir.

We have four delicious recipes for you today, and we'll break them down for you below!

 

Green "C" Monster Raw Smoothie:

- 1 cup greens* 
- 1 cup super "C" fruit*
- 1 cup Organic Pastures Raw Kefir
- 1/2 cup Organic Pastures Raw Cream

*Our preference for the greens and fruit are:
greens - spinach,  baby kale, avocado
fruit - kiwi, oranges, pineapple, papaya, mango

 


Berries and Cream Raw Smoothie:

- 2 cups mixed berries* 
- 1 cup Organic Pastures Raw Kefir
- 1/2 cup Organic Pastures Raw Cream

*Our berry preferences were: blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries

 


Tropical Chia-Colada Raw Smoothie:

- 2 cups mixed tropical fruit* 
- 1 tbsp. chia seeds*
- 1 cup Organic Pastures Raw Kefir
- 1/2 cup Organic Pastures Raw Cream

*Tropical fruit can vary, we chose pineapples, mangos, and bananas
*Our favorite chia seed brand is Nutiva. They uphold a very strict standard to their organic brand, which we love!

*some quick notes to make this journey a little easier on you.

- all smoothies are made with a 2 cups fruit or veggies / 1 1/2 cups liquid.
- smoothie packs will keep in mason jars/ziplock baggies for up to 60 days
- it is best to cut all the fruit up and freeze ahead, and then make the smoothie packs. If you combine all together then freeze, it has a tendency to clump and freeze into a big solid mass which doesn't blend well. 
- before blending, let thaw for 30 minutes or so
- add honey for a sweeter flavoring.


Cali-Winter Raw Smoothie: 

*quick note: all these fruits and vegetables can be found at your local Farmer's Market.

- 2 cups local winter seasonal fruits and vegetables*
- 1 cup Organic Pastures Raw Kefir
- 1/2 cup fresh squeezed orange juice. 

*Being in California, we used carrots (grated), oranges, pomegranate seeds (pomegranate juice can be substituted for a creamer smoothie), spinach, avocado.
