As surprising as this sounds, this was my first attempt at making my very own whipped cream. It took some trial and error but I learned that it is a basic recipe. It only takes a few minutes and three ingredients to make and yet there is one essential step for getting the perfect whipped cream recipe every single time. Start cold. Go high.
That’s it. That’s the trick.
You begin by putting your mixing bowl and whisk, (yes, even those to your electric mixer) in the freezer for about 20 minutes to get as cold as possible. You’ll also want to make sure that your Organic Pastures raw cream is as cold as possible, too.
I initially skipped this crucial step, and just pulled my cream out of the fridge, grabbed my mixing bowl, combined everything and let it do its thing. The problem was....nothing happened. It just stayed the same consistency for 5 minutes. It just kept mixing and mixing and mixing, and not getting "whippy". I ended up throwing the bowl with everything in it, into the fridge for a bit, let it all cool, and then tried again. Success! So remember, keep it cold.
Remember to blend on high as well. Another key step I first skipped. I learned the WHIP on my mixer is there for a reason, to whip!
And that's the hard part. To top it off, just cut up some strawberries, throw everything on a nice little serving platter to make it seem like you have your life together, and be prepared to have some impressed friends...or just munch on them in the comfort of your home and Instagram it!
